Our hero is a XVth century aristocrat who used to help in the famous hospices of Beaune where he encountered many artists, painters and travelers who used to come from European port-cities.

Those visitors used to bring with them their own culture and their own encounters with foreign cultures, and Charles de Beaune had a special interest in the different perfumes they used to bring along with them.

In fact, CdB became so passionate about the perfumes that it was said that he wrote a whole manuscript on the topic that was since known as: “The Lost Manuscript of Perfumes”.

THE STORY

“Charles de Beaune” is a new aristocratic scent that traces back the life-changing story of a good man once upon a French era in the XVth century.

Born in a very modest family in the beautiful city of Beaune, Charles was a kind-hearted humble man who loved helping the needy. His services were most vital in The Hospices de Beaune, which served as refuge for the wounded during the period of unrest and plague that followed the war on his city.

Under the hull-shaped arches of the poor room,Charles, like his peer volunteers,was welcoming the massive flocks of sick people and alleviating their pains. During that time,a large range of painters and artists visited the hospices to adorn its interiors. More than their mere skills,these comers from European port-cities brought with them their countries cukure and heritage, but also scented gifta,which fascinated Charles the most.

Through these scents, he could picture cities he’d always dreamt discovering and imagine encounters that flew him to the four corners of the world… Every perfume told a people’s story, and Charles found nothing more thrilling and magical than that.

Days at the hospices exposed him to many war vittims from aristocratic families as well, the likes of Mr.Valois who fell in the oring hands of Charles during his stay. A unique bond vAs instantly created between the two men, Charles’ avid thirst for life and growing passion for perfumes being quenched day and night by the old man’s unrivaled knowledge nurtured by his incessant travels around the world.

Charles didn’t know that the heartbreaking death of hh dear patient would turn his fife upside down. Moved by the innocence, kindness and devotion of hissarer, but mostly by his unfulfilled dreams to conquer the world, Mr.Valois chose to bequeath his whole fortune to Charles the only person who enlightened the last days of his life. Startled by this sudden change of fate, Charles decided to follow his testator’s .shes word by word.

Combining his passion for scents and the precious knowledge he acquired from his mentor, Charles embarked on writing one of the world’s most inspiring manuscripts on perfumes to date: “The Lost Manuscript of Perfumes”. His love story with perfumes went as far as crafting one that would combine in its essence the goodwill and fervor of a great man with the best stories of scents from around the world. This perfume would carry the earned name of his creator, known till today as “Charles de Beaune”.
